Quiet games of the throwing and aiming kind.

In the early part of either "The Hobbit" or " The Lord of the Rings" Tolkien explains a little 'concerning hobbits,' including their propensity for "quiet games of the throwing and aiming kind." Our holiday happily included several of these; frisbee in Regents Park; mini golf on Brighton Beach; and last, but by no means least, throwing pebbles to hit specified particular stones on Eastbourne and Brighton's beaches lots of times. Lovely.
